The GReat Soul Crossing

Soul Crossing follows Akshay Nanavati on a 1,700-mile coast-to-coast ski expedition across Antarctica. Pulling a 400-pound sled filled with survival supplies, he sets out to endure over 100 days alone in one of the harshest environments on Earth.

A Coast-to-Coast Crossing of Antarctica

Akshay Nanavati attempted a 1,700-mile ski crossing of Antarctica, dragging a sled that begins at nearly 400 pounds filled with everything needed to survive the journey.

For more than 100 days, he faced temperatures as low as -40 degrees, hurricane-force winds, and complete isolation as he traversed the coldest, driest, and windiest continent on Earth.

Three World Records on the Line

The expedition aimed to break three historic world records:

• The first full sea-to-sea ski crossing of Antarctica using no kites or dogs

• The first solo sea-to-sea ski crossing of Antarctica using no kites or dogs

• The longest solo unsupported ski expedition without mechanical assistance

110 Days Alone

For nearly four months, Akshay was completely alone in the Antarctic wilderness.

With no outside support and no easy escape, the journey becomes as much a mental challenge as a physical one, pushing the limits of endurance, resilience, and the human spirit.

But pure exhaustion set in, and he was emergently evacuated from the wilderness
