SpinQuest Skydive Ad: A Commercial Filmed in Freefall

SpinQuest is a sweepstakes app built around the idea of winning extraordinary experiences - and they wanted their launch campaign to match that energy. The concept was simple: film the commercial in freefall. Shot at an Arizona drop zone in Buckeye Arizon. We produced three separate video spots across a week of production, all delivered before the app's release window.

Two skydivers inside an aircraft, one in the foreground with open mouth, wearing sunglasses and a gray jacket with 'Buff' logo, and the other behind wearing a helmet and sunglasses. The plane's interior ceiling has stickers and a small window visible.
A man sitting inside an aircraft, wearing sunglasses and holding a tablet, looking up towards the camera with a surprised expression.
Three skydivers inside an aircraft with a curved ceiling, preparing for a jump; one wearing gold-tinted goggles and a gray jumpsuit, another with a red and black jumpsuit and a helmet, and the third with a gray jumpsuit and a black helmet.
A man with a beard and a short haircut is holding a smartphone with a bright green screen close to his face inside a vehicle, possibly a bus or a plane. The background shows posters on the wall.
Interior of a small aircraft with seating on the right side, walls adorned with numerous stickers and decals, a small abyss mounted on the left, and windows showing a bright sky outside.
Four people standing on tarmac near small airplane, desert landscape and airport buildings in background, clear blue sky.

A person wearing sunglasses with orange lenses and a gray jacket, inside the cockpit of an aircraft, appears to be shouting or expressing excitement.

Our Role

Ragtown Media handled full commercial production from pre-production through delivery. Clayton Lindley served as director and director of photography on this project, with the added advantage of being a licensed skydiver himself. That made the difference between a production that understood the environment and one that was guessing. Camera rigs were configured for freefall, shots were planned around jump sequences, and the edit was built to move at the pace the concept demanded.

Why This Project

Not every commercial needs to be shot in a studio. SpinQuest knew what they wanted and needed a production company that could actually execute it - not just talk about it. This project is an example of what happens when the right idea meets a crew that can actually make it work in the real environment.
