Equine Therapy Documentary | Groundwork Therapy Film Project
What is equine therapy?
Equine therapy, also called equine-assisted therapy, is a mental health treatment that uses supervised, ground-based interactions with horses to promote emotional, behavioral, and psychological healing. Rather than occurring in an office through traditional talk therapy, sessions take place in a barn or arena and involve a licensed therapist working alongside a horse specialist.
The Groundwork Documentary Story
With such a powerful, massive animal comes risk, but not the risk you first think of, obvious danger from the animal itself, hurting a person. There is a deep emotional connection that is unseen to the human eye. If that is broken or mistreated, it can affect a person on a deep emotional level.
The science
We speak with scientists and researchers who have studied the deep connection between horses and humans. With the project still in production, we can not speak much on this.
