Proposal Documentary in Sedona, Arizona

This project is a personal documentary capturing the story behind a surprise proposal.

From the moment Abbie and I met in Tempe in June of 2021, our journey led through unexpected twists, creative planning, and a sunset proposal in Sedona, Arizona. The film combines real moments, hidden cameras, and documentary storytelling to reveal the full story behind the proposal.

How the Proposal Was Planned

Planning the proposal became its own story. Originally, the plan was to propose during a trip to Japan, but unexpected circumstances forced a complete change in direction.

Instead of giving up on the idea, the plan shifted closer to home. The journey became a search for Tiger’s Eye stone in Globe, Arizona, a meaningful element that would inspire the engagement ring design.

Although the search didn’t go as planned, it became part of the story that eventually led to the final proposal.

Designing the Engagement Ring

The engagement ring was custom-designed and crafted at Havok Fine Jewelry in Goodyear, Arizona.

The process of creating the ring became an important part of the documentary itself, from early design concepts to the moment the finished ring was revealed on camera.

The Proposal in Sedona

The final plan led us to Sedona, Arizona, where the proposal would take place during sunset among the red rocks.

When we arrived at the location, a hidden microphone captured the moment while the camera was quietly set up under the pretense of taking a photo.

The Love Story Video

Before proposing, I showed Abbie a short film on my phone, a documentary telling the story of how we met and the journey leading to this moment.

The Moment She Said Yes

As the film finished and the ring appeared on screen, the camera continued recording.

I put the phone down, reached into my pocket, and asked Abbie to marry me.

She said yes.
